S.D. Wasley was born and raised in Perth, Western Australia. She has been composing literary works since before she could write – at five years of age she announced her first poem in the kitchen, improv-style. About 20 years later she earned a PhD in communications. She writes in a range of genres including young adult, paranormal, mystery, new adult romance, and short stories.

Her debut novel was published in early 2015 through Evernight Teen. Today, she lives and writes in a wine region with her partner and two daughters, surrounded by dogs, cats and chickens.

Today we're going to ancient Greece with Victoria Pinder.

Victoria Pinder grew up in Irish Catholic Boston before moving to the Miami sun. She’s worked in engineering, after passing many tests proving how easy Math came to her. Then hating her life at the age of twenty four, she decided to go to law school. Four years later, after passing the bar and practicing very little, she realized that she hates the practice of law. She refused to one day turn 50 and realize she had nothing but her career and hours at a desk. After realizing she needed change, she became a high school teacher. Teaching is rewarding, but writing is a passion.

 

During all this time, she always wrote stories to entertain herself or calm down. Her parents are practical minded people demanding a job, and Victoria spent too many years living other people’s dreams, but when she sat down to see what skill she had that matched what she enjoyed doing, writing became so obvious. Day two of getting to know the authors of A Breath of Paranormal and I'm delighted to introduce you to Jennifer Loiske.
 
Jen and I met many years ago when we both had our stories accepted for publication. Alas the books never emerged, the publisher being a charlatan, but a friendship did, and we have since become founding members of Authors For Charity, so we have ample opportunity to work together.

 

Jennifer Loiske lives in Finland in Naantali, which is a small sunny town on the southwest coast. She is a Teen/YA paranormal fiction author, with four exciting series available worldwide. Gathering Supplies

That time of year again, bank holiday, here in the UK. So I'm really hoping to fit some more writing in.

I have been baking in preparation (well I might let the family eat them too, in fact, hubby has already 'tested' one.

These have to be taken alongside a cup of tea - not sure I'll go this far with laying out a tray

 

a plain old mug will do me fine.

 

 

Now, what else? I know for when inspiration is lagging, or as a treat for hard work, some of these are needed.

 

I'm sure I'm forgetting something! Oh wait, how could I forget?

 

 

Having your notepad with the story in does help, I suppose. Oh, by the way, take a look at the pen - hold on, I'll find a bigger picture:

Handmade out of wood for me by my hubby - isn't it great! I'm trying to talk him into making some with my book name on, or my website - something to be used for giveaways - I'm working on it, so far it has resulted in raised eyebrows but I'll keep trying.

Writing Interuppted

Hi, I'm back (waving at everyone furiously).
Sorry it's been so long since my last post but I've been gutting my kitchen, and boy did it need it. I don't have pictures of before we started but here's one when we took the cupboards off of the wall:

Anyway, after many days and evenings of work I finally have the kitchen I want (the first time ever I've had a brand new kitchen) - here it is:

 

 

It is nice to have a room that feels warmer and looks clean when I've tidied up.

 

So that has kept me busy and I've hardly had time to write. 

 

A funny thing though, I took my notepad to my doctors appointment because she's never on time. I got half an hour of writing done before my name came over the speaker; stuffing it into my bag I never gave it a thought until the next time I found five minutes and guess what? - I'd stopped in the  middle of a word. All writers are used to getting stopped in the middle of a paragraph or even a sentence but to return weeks later in the middle of a word, I wasn't sure whether to laugh or cry. I chose laughter.

 

Slowly I'm clawing back some writing time and with a novel and two short stories on the go, plus a short story to edit, I need it.

 

 

Well, that's all for now. Just wanted to let you know I hadn't abandoned you.
